Copyright Notice By Recording Industry - Latest Email SCAM

A few days ago i received an "official" email from Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) stating :

Dear hereby we notify you that your IP address has been identified as distributing copyrighted content. Please see the attachment to this for illicit Internet traffic details.

At first it looked pretty much o.k. as i was rushing through the mail ,in the morning  ,half sleepy -half awake. I was just about to click the attachment ,then suddenly the list of recipients flashed across my eyes and I was like Thank God !! i didn't download that file.

I looked into the email header and found that it was generated from an account that had nothing to do with RIAA.

This is one of the latest forms of e-mail scam that can be sent by official or unofficial account of some record label or Media  regulation authority  that carries the potential of tricking you in downloading the attachment file containing Malware , keylogger or trojan.

About doing a bit of research i found the following scams floating around these days on the web :
  • -Your IP is caught involved in Downloading copy righted content -By your Internet Service Provider
  • -You are invited to event about to take place in ,Please download the attached file to see the schedule of the event Note: Events maybe real ,but invitations are fake
  • -Your Cell phone was caught indulged in criminal activity , you are required to report at
  • office ,find the attached document to note the papers you need to bring with you to prove your innocence
If you get any of such (or related) e-mail ,just think for a while ,why in the world would some institution like RIAA contact you in such manner !

How to get Google Music Beta Invite from outside US

I was craving to try for Google Music Beta since it’s launch but as it is only available for people of USA (why only USA?), all the time it irritated me with We’re sorry. Music Beta is currently only available in the United States. But then as you know “there is a will there is a way”, I managed to get an invite. All I did was to use the US Proxy to request an invitation. I got my Google Music Beta invite in 3 days. Apparently once you get the invite, Google doesn’t bother from where your accessing it i.e. all you need to do is to use a US proxy and then once you get the invitation, it is yours to use it. To simplify the process in steps:

  • Use a Google proxy site. I used http://www.ultrafastproxy.com/
  • In this site, scroll down a bit to find a field with a Browse tag on it, enter music.google.com
  • It will open Google Music page under the proxy
  • If you have security features enable in the Google account, you might have to answer the security question to verify that this a legitimate login
  • Now here you request for an invitation for an invite
  • Wait for 3-4 day to process the invite request
  • Once you get it you can access it from anywhere across the globe
You can also download the Google Music Manager, which is available for Windows, Mac and recently for Linux, to upload your own music to its cloud storage. You can upload up to 20,000 songs. But make sure that the music which your are uploading is legal. Uploading illegally downloaded music files will be deleted from the storage. One more thing once you get the invite, you can also send two invites to your friend.
Other Proxy Sites:
If the proxy site suggested earlier doesn’t work, you may want to try one of these:
Question, suggestions and feed back are welcome. Enjoy your music

How to enable Google Plus One(+1)

Google’s new offering Google +1 is the counterpart of Facebook like button. As it was expected long back that Google will try something like that to make its searches more person oriented. And here we are with Google +1. It is still a lab feature and is not available by default. But of course you can enable it in your Google profile. Follow these simple steps:
Now search something on Google. You can see the +1 sign besides that preview icon. If you hover the cursor over, it sparkles.
You can click on the +1 symbol. The +1ed searches/sites are stored on your Google profile. If you don’t have a Google profile, then when you click on it, Google will give you an option to create Google profile. Click on Create profile and +1.
To see what sites you +1ed you can go to your profile by clicking on the drop down with your name on the top right corner and there select view profile. In your profile choose +1′s tab. You can see all the sites here.
KIM (Keep In Mind): The Google +1 buttons are only available in Google searches. They are yet to implement on different websites like a Facebook like button. You won’t see the +1 button if you search on Bing or Yahoo or search from your browser (even if it uses Google), not for now at the least. Apart from your +1 choices, it also takes into account the +1ed sites by your friends and modifies the search accordingly. Privacy options are available to tweak the settings.
