With making 1 Billion U.S. Dollars in cash and Facebook stock, Instagram must be one of the most successful applications of all time. The technology, available for various mobile devices running on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android operating system, is at its core a program to take photos with the devices’ cameras, apply filters, and share the resulting photos on various social networking sites.
Photos can be uploaded on the company’s own website Instagr.am, or on social networking sites such as Facebook. With popularity comes the desire to download Instagram photos to the local PC. While it is certainly possible to download the photos manually, it would take a long time if you are particularly fond of an Instagram user, and want to download all of the user’s uploaded photos.
Instagram Photo Downloader
The free portable Open Source program Instragram Downloader automates much of the process. All you basically need is the photographers username, key it in in the Instragram Downloader interface, and click on the download button to create a text file on your system that lists all photo urls the program has discovered during the look-up.
You could now copy and paste each url individually into the web browser to display the individual Instagram photos, and download them afterwards, or use a download manager instead which is better suited for downloading a massive amount of images from the Instagr.am website.
For that, you could use a program like Free Download Manager which lets you paste all download links into the program interface to initiate the automatic download of all photos. Alternatives are JDownloader, which requires the Oracle Java Runtime Environment on the system, Orbit Downloader, the excellent Bulk Image Downloader or a browser extension.
Webstagram, the Instagram web search engine, is a good starting point if you do not have particular user names in mind yet. You can use the service to browser popular photos uploaded to the Instagram website, which in term leads to the names of the photographers.
Instagram Downloader is compatible with all recent 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the Microsoft Windows operating system.via[ghacks]
